Hi, I'm Chelsea. I am a wife to a handsome hunk and a mom to two wild and crazy boys. I occupy my time with awesome things like baking, sewing, deal shopping, good reality tv, and making memories with my fabulous family and friends. I started this blog as an outlet for the many thoughts and ideas running through my head on a daily basis. I hope you enjoy the madness.
Why SOUP ON THE ROCKS?
When I was in the advertising program in college, I was looking for a catchy name for an advertising blog I wanted to start. I came across this ad in one of my textbooks.
After seeing the ad, I was not sure whether I should laugh, throw up, or run to my cupboard and pour some "Soup on the rocks” for myself. No matter how many other ideas I looked at, this one just seemed to stick in my head. That is when I realized the people at Campbell’s Soup are geniuses. According to Ogilvy (an advertising legend), unless your headline sells your product, you have wasted 90 percent of your money. Campbell’s introduced a new way to sell an old product, and guess what? It worked! They found a way to introduce beef broth to a summer audience rather than the usual winter audience. I wanted my blog to stand out as something different, so it made perfect sense that I should use Soup on the Rocks as the name. I started my blog posting clever and controversial advertisements, but after I graduated I failed to keep up with it. Now that I am a wife and a mom, I have a whole new perspective on life. There is so much I want to share and talk about, so I gave Soup on the Rocks a new look and purpose, and here we are now. Although I still prefer my soup hot, I have to say that Soup on the Rocks is M’m! M’m! Good!
